BIOGRAPHY

PHIL AVELLI

I am a New York City based Artist, Graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1991 after years of study with such notable artists as Will Eisner, Gene Colon and Marshall Arisman. A love for comic books came at a very early age and that artistic style became a very strong influence in my work. While in school I was fortunate enough to get thrown into the comic book business with my Friends Blake Seals and Gary Dufner, it was a great learning experience, mostly about what NOT to do when going into business for yourself, but we had a lot of laughs and stars in our eyes for the brief time we were getting our book out there. Since then I have worked freelance for many companies creating Storyboards for commercials, Toy Design, Character Design, Logo Design, Graphic Design for CD projects and Advertisements and once and a while a Comic Book / Cartooning job (Which are always my favorite jobs.)
